Delivery Guidelines
Ready to get your song mastered? It's always a good idea to take a moment before sending your song to ensure you are happy with the mix. While there is a lot that can be done in mastering, most issues are better fixed in the mix. So, take a day off from working on your song and listen to it with a fresh pair of ears. Ready to continue? Then use the steps below to prepare your songs for mastering!
- It's good practice to leave about 6dB of headroom when mixing your song. For me, it works best if there is little to no processing on the master bus that deals with gain or dynamics ( limiters, compressors, maximizers ).
- Export your mix as a stereo .wav file using the sample rate of the project and the highest bit-depth possible.
- Label your files in a helpful manner like ( 01. Artist - Song title.wav )
- Use a service like Wetransfer to package the .wav files and paste the link in the contact form to get started!
I will always check the files and songs for issues before starting on your master. If I hear an issue that is better fixed in the mix, I will contact you with a detailed description of the issue and a possible solution. Or a set of options we can take to solve the issues. Ultimately, I want the same result as you, the best-sounding master!
